Description

Wingspan 7 to 8mm. One of three very similar species. It has a small black oval and grey shading on the wings.

Habitat

Found on poplars. The larva mines the leaf.

Status and distribution

Mainly reported across the Midlands, East Anglia and Wales. Common in Nottinghamshire and recorded once at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

July to August.
