Description

Wingspan 23 - 26mm. The wings are pale cream with markings of brown circles and lines.

Habitat

Woodland edge, hedgerows and grasslands. The larvae feed on various herbaceous plants.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread throughout Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

July and August.
