Pale Prominent

Pterostoma palpina


Wingspan 42 - 60mm. A pale buff with fine markings in black and grey. The tip of the abdomen extends beyond the tips of the wings when at rest.


Found on poplars and willows.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread in southern Britain, less so further north. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

May to August.
