Description

Wingspan 15 to 23mm. A streaked grey and brown moth found on Spear Thistle.

Habitat

Dry, open spaces where Spear Thistle are common, brown-field sites, woodland edge.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread throughout most of Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

June to August.
