Description

Wingspan 12mm. A small metallic moth with a burnt tip to the closed wings. The antennae whiten towards their tips.

Habitat

Grasslands and meadows. The larvae feed within a case on white clover.

Status and distribution

Local but distributed over most of Britain. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and common at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

May to August in two broods.
