Description
Over all length 8 - 11mm. This species is similar to Himacerus mirmicoides but is normally shorter winged and has antennae longer than the length of the thorax and the abdomen.
Habitat
Found on various trees and also nettles and low herbage, where it preys on small insects.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread in England and Wales but less so further north. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
July to October.
