Anthocoris nemorum

Description

Over all length 3 - 4mm. There are several very similar species in this genus. With Anthocoris nemorum the whole of the wing surfaces are shiny, the second and third segments of the antennae are pale and dark in the first and forth. The legs are mostly orange/brown and the pronotum black and the forewings mostly paler than in other members of the genus. The wing membranes have an hour-glass shaped dark patch.

Habitat

Low vegetation where it seeks its insect prey.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread throughout Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

All year.
