Polymerus nigrita

Description

Over all length 4.5mm. A very dark bug with dense golden hairs over its upper surface with some orange/brown markings. The long hind tibiae have broad pale bands.

Habitat

Found in a variety of habitats where it feeds mainly on Bedstraws.

Status and distribution

Widespread but thinly recorded across the whole of Britain. Uncommon in Nottinghamshire but recorded regularly at Netherfield Lagoons, (possibly the first Nottinghamshire records).

Best time to see

June to September.
