Willow Flea Beetle

Crepidodera aurata

Description

Over all length 2.5 - 3.5mm. A small leaf beetle with a reddish pronotum and metallic green elytra.

Habitat

Mainly on Willows, the adults feed on the leaves and the larvae feed on the roots.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread in southern England, especially the south-east. Well distributed in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

All year.
