Description

Over all length 1.8 to 2.5mm. A distinctive small, hairy, black and brown weevil.

Habitat

They can be found wherever mallows are available, the larvae feeding on the developing seeds.

Status and distribution

Locally common across southern England and Wales. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

April to July.
