Ceutorhynchus pallidactylus
Description
Over all length 3mm. A small, greyish species, covered in cream coloured scales. There is a yellowish spot at the bases of the elytra.
Habitat
Anywhere that members of the Brassicae grow, including cabbage fields. The larvae mine the stems of the plants.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread in England except the West Country, where it is less common. Less common in Wales and uncommon in Scotland. Common in Nottinghamshire and recorded once at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
March to April and August to September.
