Description

Over all length 2 - 3mm. A small red weevil with a long snout.

Habitat

Found on Rumex species, such as Broad-leaved Dock Rumex obtusifolius. 

Status and distribution

A mainly southern species with fewer records from the north of England and uncommon in Scotland. Fairly widespread in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

April to June.
