Description
Body length 11 - 15mm. Similar to the Vespid wasps but can be distinguished by the yellow face with a single small black spot.
Habitat
Woodland edge, hedgerows, parks and gardens.
Status and distribution
Fairly common and widespread in Britain. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and occasional at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
May to September.
