Pachyprotasis rapae

Description

Body length 7 - 10mm. A black and cream species with pale brown wings. The markings on the head and thorax are very complicated.

Habitat

Woodland edge and hedgerows. The larvae feed on a variety of plants, including Hazel, Figwort and Ash.

Status and distribution

Fairly common and widespread in Britain. Not often recorded in Nottinghamshire. Recorded twice at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

May to August.
