Description
Body length 5 to 6mm. A small, grey and black fly with a well marked abdomen.
Habitat
There is not much information about habitat available. The larvae are endoparasites of sawflies, often in association with Willow or Ash trees.
Status and distribution
Uncommon in Britain and in Nottinghamshire. Regular at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
July to September.
