Tachinid Fly

Solieria pacifica

Description

Over all length 8 to 10mm. The thorax and abdomen are grey, the abdomen with brownish side patches. The femora are orange/brown.

Habitat

Often associated with post-industrial land. Scrub, woodland edge and hedgerows.

Status and distribution

Thinly recorded throughout the southern half of Britain. Not recorded from Nottinghamshire but regular at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

July to August.
