Description
Over all length 7 - 8mm. A reddish-brown species with orange legs and some dark spots and leading edge on its wings. The thorax is striped and the eyes are red.
Habitat
A wide variety of habitats are used, from grasslands to woodland rides. They feed on slugs as predators and as parasites.
Status and distribution
Fairly common and widespread throughout much of Britain. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
June to September.
