Description
Over all length 6 - 8mm. The thorax is dark with a dull brassy tone. The abdomen can be mint-green or cream, with a variable dark central mark.
Habitat
Sunny, well vegetated areas close to water. The Large Gravel Pit and Slurry Lagoons are attractive to this insect at the reserve.
Status and distribution
Widespread but local in the south of Britain.
Best time to see
Late May to August.
