Picture-winged Fly
Oxyna species
Description
Over all length 4mm. This is a genus with several very similar flies in it, so great care must be taken when ascribing one to species. The wing patterns are the best things to go by, but the plants they are on can also give a clue.
Habitat
Normally rough grassland with plenty of ruderal species present. Woodland edge and hedgerows can also provide good habitat for them.
