Milky-winged Crane

Antocha vitripennis

Description

Over all length 5 - 6mm. This is a small cranefly  with milky wings. The abdomen and thorax are light tan with darker markings, and the head is grey.

Habitat

Found near running water.

Status and distribution

Distributed across most of Britain except a large area of East Anglia. Recorded once at the reserve.

Best time to see

June to September.
