Description

This is a very large family of normally very small, hard to identify parasitic wasps. Sometimes it is hard to even get to the right family and a powerful microscope is normally needed. Many are black, but some can be brightly coloured.

Habitat

There are species that live in all types of habitat where their insect prey can be found.

Status and distribution

Many are fairly common and well distributed through Great Britain.
