White Plume

Pterophorus pentadactyla

Description

Wingspan 26 - 34mm. An all  white moth with the fore-wings divided into two feathery plumes and the hind-wings into three.

Habitat

Hedgerows and woodland edge. The larvae feed on bindweed species.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread in England, Wales and southern Scotland. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

June to August.
