Hypena proboscidalis

Wingspan 36 - 42mm. The long and up-turned palps give this species its distinctive 'snout' and, at rest, its wings form an equilateral triangle. Its colour varies slightly but normally it is barred with shades of brown, buff-brown and grey-brown.

A wide variety of habitats are used, anywhere where the foodplant, nettle, grows.
