Description
Wingspan 39 - 44mm. The fore-wings are dark brown with pink blotches, like peach blossom.
Habitat
Woodlands and hedgerows where the caterpillars feed on the leaves of brambles.
Status and distribution
Fairly common and widespread in Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
May to July.
