Wingspan 25 - 29mm. When fresh, easily identified by its green colouration. This green gradually fades to whitish, but the pattern of black triangular patches stays the same.
A wide variety of habitats are used, including woodland edge, hedgerows, gardens and grasslands.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread in Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
May to September, in two broods.
