Description

Wingspan 10 to 12mm. Unmistakable gold and white moth.

Habitat

Woodland, heaths and gardens. The larvae are leaf-miners on Alder and Birch.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread throughout most of Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

June to August.
