Description
Wingspan 18 to 22mm. A white moth with beautiful sepia markings in lines and swirls across its wings.
Habitat
Normally found near water, its larvae are aquatic and feed on bur-reeds and some other aquatic plants.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread through most of Britain. Rare in Nottinghamshire and recorded once at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
July and August.
