Description
Wingspan 45 - 52mm. A very distinctive moth with pale-straw wings marked with pink and olive . The rear edges of the fore-wings are very ragged.
Habitat
Woodlands, hedgerows and gardens. The food plants are across a wide variety of species, from nettles to brambles to hazel and dock.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread in southern Britain, less so in Scotland. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
May to October.
