Capsus ater

Description

Body length 5 - 6mm. A black leaf bug with brownish hind femora and pronotum. Sometimes the pronotum is also black.

Habitat

Various grassland habitats, where it normally feeds low in the grasses.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread throughout Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

June to September.
