Ground Bug
Eremocoris podagricus
Description
Body length 5 to 7mm. A dark brown ground bug with cream coloured spots on its wing membrane and one or two other pale markings. The tibia have short hairs about equal to the tibial width.
Habitat
Normally found in moss under Hawthorn on chalk.
Status and distribution
This is a southern species that is expanding its range northwards. Local and infrequently recorded in Nottinghamshire. This is the first record for Netherfield Lagoons.
