Stenodema holsata

Description

Over all length 6 - 7mm. Normally a pale brown colour with darker central markings on the hemelytra. In spring both sexes become green as they prepare to breed. There is a groove between the eyes and the pronotum is heavily pitted.

Habitat

Grasslands.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread in Britain, except for the south east. Uncommon in Nottinghamshire and recorded once at Netherfield Lagoons.

All year.
