Cantharis pallida
Description
Over all length 7 - 8.5mm. The whole insect is an orange/brown colour, slightly brighter on the pronotum.
Habitat
Can be seen on umbelliferous flowers where it preys on other flower visiting insects. The larvae feed on invertebrates in the leaf-litter and loose soil.
Status and distribution
Fairly common and widespread in the southern half of Britain, less common further north. Occasional in Nottinghamshire and uncommon at Netherfield Lagoons.

May to July.
