Tachyporus solutus
Description
Body length 3 to 4 mm. Similar to T. obtusus, but all black on the abdomen and with only a narrow black band on the elytra.
Habitat
Moss and leaf litter where they hunt other small invertebrates.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread throughout most of Britain, with the exception of the Highlands and the West Country. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and recorded once at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
May to October.
