Oulema obscura
Description
Over all length 3 to 4mm. A small metallic blue beetle with rows of punctures on its elytra, which have very square shoulders.
Habitat
Grasslands and cereal crops. The adults and larvae feed on a wide variety of grasses and cereal crops.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread in southern and eastern Britain. Less common further north. Common in Nottinghamshire and recorded once at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
All year, especially July and August.
