Description
Over all length 5 - 6mm. There are several very similar species and the host plant is often the best clue to their identity. They are covered in tiny hairs which make them look dull, not shiny.
Habitat
Associated with willows.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread in England and Wales, not so common in Scotland. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
May to September.
