Ground Beetle
Paradromius linearis
Description
Body length 4.5 to 6mm. A narrow-bodied, reddish/brown beetle.
Habitat
Grassland, scrubby areas and post-industrial sites. The beetles are found in the litter at the bottoms of sedges and clumps of grass, sometimes climb up the grass.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread throughout lowland England and Wales. Less common in Scotland. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
April to September.
