Ground Beetle
Acupalpus dubius
Description
Body length 2.5 to 3.3mm. A very small, brown carabid beetle with a paler pronotum.
Habitat
Wetlands, normally close to the water in dense vegetation. Often found in the leaf litter in these situations.
Status and distribution
Common and well distributed through southern and central England but becoming scattered and more local elsewhere and absent from Scotland.
Best time to see
April to September.
