Andrena bicolor

Description

Body length 7 - 11mm. The face hairs are black and the pile on the top of the thorax is bright, orange/brown. The sides of the abdomen have black hair and the abdomen has black hair with vague pale lines of hairs between the segments. The hind tibiae are black with orange hairs.

Habitat

Can be found in a very wide range of habitats.

Status and distribution

Common and widely distributed in England, Wales and lowland Scotland. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

March to August.
