Upcoming public events held at the Netherfield Lagoons Local Nature Reserve, Nottinghamshire.
Some summer birds may still be about and some winter birds may have already arrived. It is at this transitional stage of the year that some rarities can turn up. If you want to take part in the Patchwatch come to the site as early as you like and see what you can find, you might see an owl. The idea is to see as many species of bird on the site as we can in a 24hr period. Don’t forget to let us know what you see! The best place to meet up is on the Causeway, by the benches.
If you are able to help please come along in the morning. We meet inside the metal gates in the small car park at 09.00hrs. Park on Teal Close and walk along the Ouse Dyke to the footbridge. Follow the Willow Walk and you will arrive at the car park. Please be on time so that we can allocate tools to you. Wear stout shoes and thorn-proof gloves. Today we shall be mowing the orchid patches.
