Description
Over all length 5 - 7mm. A small cranefly with a grey head, thorax and abdomen and unspotted wings.
Habitat
Wet, boggy areas with decaying plant material.
Status and distribution
Common through most of Britain. Found occasionally at the reserve, in the boggy area behind the Large Gravel Pit.
Best time to see
April to September.
