Description

Wingspan 20 to 23mm. The wings are mottled grey with a distinctive tawny patch in the centre.

Habitat

Open ground, grassland where Yarrow and Sneezewort occur.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread throughout most of Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

July and August.
