Description

Over all length 2.5 to 3mm. Small brown rove beetle

Habitat

Leaf litter and tufts of grass where it feeds on decaying vegetation and fungi.

Status and distribution

Widespread in England except the West Country and Wales. Very local in Scotland. Not often recorded in Nottinghamshire and recorded once at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

March to October.
