Description

Over all length 3 to 4mm. A small brown beetle with hairy eletra.

Habitat

In vegetation at the edges of pools, peat bogs, and wet meadows. It feeds on submerged detritus.

Status and distribution

Fairly common and widespread throughout lowland Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

March to September.
