Description
Body length 6 - 8mm. A bright metallic beetle with rufous shoulder patches and reddish legs.
Habitat
Open ground in fields and gardens. Feeds on other invertebrates, including slugs.
Status and distribution
Fairly common and widespread with discontinuous distribution across Britain. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and recorded at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
May to August.
