Description

Body length 10 - 12mm. This is a striking species with a black and deep yellow abdomen.

Habitat

Woodland edge and hedgerows. The larvae are endoparasites of Swift Moths.

Status and distribution

Thinly but widely dispersed throughout England.

Best time to see

August to September.
