Description
Body length 5 to 6mm. A small black species with a strong black wing stigma.
Habitat
Hedgerows and woodland edge. The adults feed on nectar from plants such as hogweed but it is not known which species the larvae parasitise.
Status and distribution
There is a small clump of records, all in the south Yorkshire area.
Best time to see
April to June.
