Description

Body length 6 - 12mm. Has less yellow than other Cerceris species.

Habitat

Various habitats with sandy or clay soils and flowers to attract their bee prey.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread in southern England and Wales. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

June to September.
