Body length 3mm. A tiny black species with almost entirely yellow legs and clear wings.
Habitat
Woodland edge and hedgerows. The adults run about on leaves and the larvae feed on decomposing vegetable matter, often at the bases of umbellifers.
Status and Distribution
Fairly common and widespread in southern England as far north as the Midlands. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best Time to See
June to August.
