Description
Over all length 6 – 8mm. The males have very large round eyes and a shiny thorax. The wings have a strong black stigma and the lower parts of the legs are an orange-brown.
Habitat
Hedgerows and rank, damp grassland.
Status and Distribution
Has been recorded from the south coast to the north of Scotland with a tendency to the lowlands further north. Not very often found on the reserve.
Best Time to See
Late April to Early May.
