Description
Body length 10 – 14mm. A large brown shieldbug with red legs and antennae. The pronotum has a spiked point on each of its front corners.
Habitat
Woodland edge, hedgerows and grasslands where they prey on other invertebrates, especially caterpillars.
Status and Distribution
This species is common and widespread throughout Britain. Widespread and fairly common in Nottinghamshire and common at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best Time to See
July to November.
